Protect Residents & Staff from Airborne Contamination
Aerobiotix air sanitization technology provides a safer assisted living environment.
Isn’t the Air in the Building Clean?
The air coming into your building through the HVAC system is clean when it enters the room.
As people move through your facility, they’re breathing, talking, coughing, sneezing, and shedding skin cells. They are leaving a trail of particulates that carry viruses and bacteria (including SARS-CoV-2, C-diff., TB, influenza, Staph) in the air. These invisible air contaminants and allergens put residents and staff at risk.
About Aerobiotix Technology
Increasing airflow or using HEPA filters can improve air quality but won’t kill germs in the air like Aerobiotix solutions do. Our products use shielded UVC germicidal light, HEPA filtration, and a proprietary photolytic chamber to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and spores in the air.¹
Use our solutions to:
- Reduce infections, outbreaks, and hospitalizations
- Increase environmental safety for residents and staff
Our Products
No need for expensive renovations or retrofitting. Simply plug in our portable products and be assured that the air in resident rooms, activity areas, dining rooms—any space—is being sanitized.

AeroCure® 200
For use in spaces 400+ sq. ft. (reception area/entryway, larger apartments, activity rooms, offices).
- Pre-filter cartridge captures larger debris and helps to trap odors
- Shielded UVC germicidal light eliminates 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and spores
- Medical-grade HEPA filtration removes finer particulates
- In a 725 sq. ft. room with 8 ft ceilings, the air in the room is disinfected 36 – 48 times per day
- Supplements current HVAC system and limited ventilation areas
- Portable, can be moved to high traffic areas easily
- Quiet, continuous operation

GermZone® 100
Upper room solution for use in smaller areas (resident living spaces, elevators, and restrooms).
- Pre-filter cartridge captures larger debris and helps to trap odors
- Shielded UVC germicidal light eliminates 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and spores
- Air in the room is disinfected 20 – 24 times per day
- Small and portable, can be moved mounted anywhere
Air Quality & UVC Light Research
REDUCTION OF PARTICLES IN THE OR USING UV AIR DISINFECTION UNITS
Curtis, G.L., MD, et al. The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2017 reported the C-UVC units significantly reduce total and viable particles counts.
THE IMPACT OF SUPPLEMENTAL INTRAOPERATIVE AIR DECONTAMINATION ON THE OUTCOME OF TOTAL JOINT ARTHROPLASTY
Cook, T., DO, Piatt, C., DO, Barnes, S. BSN, Edmiston, Jr., C.E. PhD. The Journal of Arthroplasty, 2018. While PJI is multifactorial in nature, this study suggests the use of intraoperative supplemental air decontamination significantly reduced the overall risk of PJI.
THE IMPACT OF A NOVEL MAPS ON THE BACTERIAL AIR BURDEN DURING ROUTINE CARE
Werner Bischoff, MD PhD, FSHEA, Gregory Russell MS, Elisabeth Willard AAS, John Stehle Jr PhD. American Journal of Infection Control, 2019. Aerosol transmission of pathogens can result in the rapid spread of disease. The mobile air recirculation system significantly decreased the bacterial load by over 40%.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Aerobiotix technology work?
- A pre-filter cartridge first captures larger particles to ensure optimum efficiency of the system.
- A proprietary photolytic chamber slows the travel of particles, providing sufficient time for internal ultraviolet light to inactivate them.
- The remaining particles, now inactivated, move through a medical grade HEPA filter in the AeroCure 200 (the GermZone 100 does not have a HEPA filter) to trap them from returning to the air.
- This technology provides a pathogen elimination rate of 99%.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, all products have a 3 year warranty
How safe are UVGI (ultraviolet germicidal irradiation) products?
- Unlike many UVGI products currently available, AeroCure 200 and GermZone 100 use shielded ultraviolet light (lamps contained within the units), so there is no exposure of ultraviolet light to people. Therefore, our products are safe to use in occupied spaces.
- UVGI lamps have been used for many decades in the healthcare industry.
- UVC treatment is a proven method for sanitizing air, water, and nonporous surfaces.
What do regulatory organizations say about using HEPA and UVGI to combat SARS-CoV-2?
Per the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), recommendations include:
- Portable, free-standing high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters
- Use UVGI
- Only use air cleaners for which evidence of effectiveness and safety is clear
- For more information from ASHRAE on benefits of HEPA and UVGI: Position Document on Infectious Aerosols (April 14, 2020).
Per Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) recommendations include:
- Consider using ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) as a supplement to help inactivate SARS-CoV-2, especially if options for increasing room ventilation are limited.
- For more information from OSHA on benefits of HEPA and UVGI: Protecting Workers: Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace.
Have these products been tested for effectiveness?
- Yes, this technology has been tested by independent laboratories: RTI, NIOHIM and Battelle Institute. It has been tested with MS2, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2. Results were consistent in eliminating these airborne pathogens, as well as spores. For test documents, please contact: info@aerobiotix.com./li>
What are the maintenance needs of Aerobiotix products?
Maintenance will be dependent on the environment they are in, i.e., dust levels, etc. An Instruction Manual is provided with each unit.
- Cleaning: wipe down exterior of units as needed with disinfectant wipes.
- Prefilter Cartridge Replacements:
- AeroCure 200: replace prefilter cartridge quarterly.
- GermZone 100: replace the filter approximately every 6 months.
Note: More frequent cartridge changes may be needed in high contamination areas.
- HEPA Filter:
- AeroCure 200: The HEPA filter will need replaced once per year.
- GermZone 100: Not applicable.
- UV Lamp Replacement:
- AeroCure 200: approximately every 2 years.
- GermZone 100: approximately every 2 years.
